The White Tower

A Small Hiatus, and Other Stories

As you might have noticed, things have slowed down here at the White Tower of late. I was in a car accident earlier this month, and the recovery from that delayed some things. That was followed by a shift change at work that required significant alteration to sleeping habits and resulted in the loss of my most productive writing time. I still haven’t found a new rhythm for that, and it’s a little bit disconcerting.

Another contributing factor is the rapid approach of the month of November. November is the National Novel Writing Month, and I’ve been planning on doing that for quite some time. As things have come closer, my increasingly limited writing time has been divided between trying to get some things finished for this blog and trying to tidy up worldbuilding details and plot outlines to get ready for NaNoWriMo.

My original plans were to have all of the narratives caught up to Return To Mirkwood by November 1st, so that I would have all of those loose ends tied up for November. Unfortunately, life has a way of getting in the way of things, and that hasn’t happened. A great deal of the worldbuilding and outlining I expected to do has also not gotten done either, so NaNoWriMo is going to be interesting this year too.

So part of the purpose of this post is to apologize for the lack of recent content, especially when I had planned to get it out. Another part is to announce that this blog is going to go into suspended animation for the month of November, while I focus my attention on writing a novel instead – and try to work out a new rhythm for my writing schedule while I do it.

Come December 1st, though, I’ll be back to writing for the blog and creating videos for the YouTube channel.

In other news, I joined Grant and Dave of the Card Talk podcast for an episode of theirs. They run a great show with bite-sized episodes focusing on a single card from the card pool and doing an in-depth look at what you might be able to do with it. My episode can be found here, and I encourage you all to take a look at all of their content.

And now, I’ll bid you all adieu until we meet again on the other side of that great divide known as NaNoWriMo. One way or another, there are going to be a lot of great stories to share when we get there.
